昌乐县地处山东半岛中部、环渤海经济圈与山东半岛城市群的交汇点，是“中国蓝宝石之都”“中国西瓜之乡”。境内有大小古火山84座，是世界四大蓝宝石产地之一，蓝宝石储量数十亿克拉，占全国总储量的90%以上。“昌乐西瓜”品牌价值位居全国首位，年产量6亿公斤，以皮薄、沙瓤、脆甜誉满九州，享有“天上甘露美，昌乐西瓜甜”的美誉。
Located in the middle of Shandong Peninsula and the junction of Bohai Economic Circle and Shandong Peninsula City Cluster, Changle County is reputed the Capital of Sapphire in China and the Hometown of Watermelons in China. With 84 small and big ancient volcanoes, this city is one of the world’s four major sapphire-producing regions. Its sapphire reserves stand at billions of carats, accounting for more than 90% of China’s total reserves. Changle Watermelon’s value ranks first in China. Every year, Changle produces 600 million kilograms of watermelons. With thin skin, and mushy, crisp and sweet pulp, Changle Watermelon is popular all over China. As the old Chinese saying goes, “Changle Watermelon is as sweet as dew from heaven.”
昌乐工业蓬勃发展，先进制造业优势比较突出。塑料产业是昌乐县主导产业之一,发展始于上世纪80年代末，主要是进料加工垃圾袋、塑料管出口，曾一度占据全县进出口总额的80%。近几年来，昌乐县委县政府大力支持塑料企业发展，鼓励企业加大环保、安全、技术改造投入，塑料产业实现快速发展，现有自营进出口权塑料企业176家，产品主要有食品袋、大棚膜、垃圾袋、一次性手套、PVC塑料软管、钢丝管、市政污水管、塑料加工机械等，出口欧美等80多个国家和地区，昌乐县被中国塑料加工工业协会命名为“中国塑料包装材料出口生产基地”和“中国PVC增强软管加工生产基地”。2023年塑料制品进出口额达35亿元，占全县进口额的31.2%，为全县外贸高质量发展做出了突出贡献。
Changle’s industry is booming, particularly the advanced manufacturing industry. Changle’s plastics industry dates back to the late 1980s and has now become a leading industry in Changle. Changle mainly processes and exports garbage bags (with customers’ materials) and plastic pipes. The export volume of garbage bags and plastic pipes once accounted for 80% of Changle’s total import and export volume. In recent years, the CPC Changle County Committee and the People’s Government of Changle County vigorously support plastics enterprises and encourage their investments in environmental protection, safety and technological transformation. As a result, Changle’s plastics industry is growing rapidly. So far, Changle is home to 176 plastics enterprises with self-managed import and export rights. They mainly produce food bags, greenhouse film, garbage bags, disposable gloves, PVC plastic hoses, steel wire pipes, municipal sewage pipes and plastics processing machines, which are exported to more than 80 countries and regions such as Europe and the US. Changle is named China Export and Production Base for Plastic Packing and China Processing and Production Base for PVC Reinforced Hoses by China Plastic Processing Industry Association. In 2023, the import and export volume of Changle’s plastic products reached 3.5 billion yuan and accounted for 31.2% of Changle’s total import volume, significantly contributing to the high-quality development of Changle’s foreign trade.
